Worksop & District

Walks in November 2025

November 3rd

Just two of us ventured off on a gloomy Monday to Baslow in the Peak District. We left the village crossing the River Derwent over the Baslow Old Bridge before climbing to the village of Pilsley . We continue to climb up Handley Lane before dropping into Edensor for a pitstop of a coffee and a bacon butty. We circled around to the weir where we spotted a herd of fallow deer, before  returning to Baslow via Chatsworth Bridge. No rain in the end.

Janet took eight of us a little further afield today to Southwell. We had a fabulous walk on the chilly but wonderful autumnal day where we walked the Bramley Apple Trail. Starting at the leisure centre we took in a number of Southwell's famous sites including the Minster, the Workhouse and Merrywesther orchard with its heritage varieties

We returned to familiar ground this week when Andrew led eleven walkers around Clumber Park. As you can see some of us enjoyed meeting the elves who are now dotted around the park.
