We enjoyed a very muddy expedition today. Starting at the village hall in Laughton en le Morthen we walked via Kirk Croft Road across the fields to Thwaite House Bridge, and then on to Firbeck. After Firbeck we took the bridleway via the old RAF Firbeck site to Stone. After a soggy tramp across the fields we arrived for a banana break at Roche Abbey.

A short steep haul out of the valley gave us to extensive views over Hooten Dyke, Brookhouse and Slade Hooton before we arrived back at Laughton.

Some of us enjoyed a delicious lunch at Leger Lake Tearoom. A good reward for a sticky day.
