Roger led 10 of us on walk between Carlton and Langold on another sunny Monday morning.
We started off at St John's Church and walked past the old mill then across the fields towards Owday Lane and past Holme House Farm. We skirted past Wallingwells before crossing Rotherham Baulk to head up the side of the pit tip then dropped down to walk around Langold Lake. We returned to Carlton the other side of the pit tip and back to the church through the woods.

Catherine led us today through the gloom. We started at Marine Drive in Shireoaks and walked by the side of the old pit tip into Shireoaks and through to the school. Leaving the village by Brancliffe lane we headed toward Lindrick Golf Club but before we got there we diverted west through the woods to a disused quarry. We then headed south to the canal and followed it for a break at Turnerwood. Sadly, the café was still closed, as it will be until spring next year.
We left the canal to go to Netherthorpe and then back across the field to Shireoaks.

Richard took us to the Notts Wildlife Trust Idle Valley Nature Reserve near Retford today. We walked from the visitors centre through Bunker Wood and along the River Idle to Chainbridge. We returned via the Tiln Wood trail

Sandra and Steve started at Westhorpe, Killamarsh and took us over the River Rother and then up and down the Moss Valley just north of Eckington. The route took in parts of the Sheffield Country walk including the abandoned and reputedly haunted Seldom Seen Engine house. Very appropriate just prior to halloween.
